It’s June 1st, aka DAY ONE OF PRIDE MONTH. In my latest post, I mentioned a blog series to celebrate, and, well, here we are!
Rainbow Connection is that series. It will feature blog posts from queer teens about their experiences and what Pride means to them. I am BEYOND excited to share these posts with you.
To start off Pride Month, here’s a list of LGBTQIAP+ book sources, for all your Pride reading needs 🙂
LGBTQreads.com has a MASTERPOST OF LISTS ❤
The ever lovely Dahlia Adler also has a QUILTBAG Compendium
Ava @ Bookishness and Tea has many, many, many wonderful book recs with her Diversity Thursday Spotlight
Some of my recent favorites include:
Dreadnought by April Daniels
Trans MC? YES. Superpowers? YEP. Amazing writing? DOUBLE YES.
Every Heart A Doorway by Seanan McGuire
The imagery is strong with this one. Also, a wonderful asexual character. (Not to mention, EHAD *also* won the Nebula Award for a Novella.)
Not Your Sidekick by C.B. Lee
This book has it all. Bisexual Asian MC, superpowers, convincingly written teens, and a diverse world.
The Long Way To A Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers
Oh MAN this book. My review said it all, but the short version is: gays in space with lots of cool aliens and FAMILY VIBES.
These are just a few recommendations to get you started for Pride Month, but don’t stop reading diverse books once June is over! Support LGBTQIAP+ artists in any way you can 🙂
Happy Pride Month!
